Sketch pads are ideal for jotting down initial ideas on the move or at home. The Derwent range of wirebound Sketch Pads is available in landscape and portrait formats in the 3 most popular ‘A’ sizes, A5, A4 & A3. Each Sketch Pad contains 30 sheets of 165gsm (110lbs) acid free, textured paper which has been tested and approved by our team of professional artists.
Paper weight is measured in two ways, Imperial or Metric. Our imperial weight is that of 500 sheets of paper (a ream) of imperial sized paper measuring 38” x 25”. The metric weight is grammes per square metre (gsm). The paper in our pads is classified as heavy weight which means that it is more resilient and will take a minimum of 10 layers of pencil before the surface will begin to deteriorate. It can also be used with watercolour pencils for light washes and for pen and ink drawings as the ink does not bleed through the paper.
